Matophonia and I thought we'd be clever enough to investigate how to do a live broadcast on YouTube. It went so-so.

“useless yet crucial” – a surreal and amusing compilation of works developed by graphic artist and performer Raquel Meyers, where fighting washing machines and killer lego ducks battle it for a pixel perfect finish. Covering the last 4 years of her works, the album exposes her unique approach to her pixel packed 8bit style. This diverse collection of works spans her collaborations with bands internationally, and her experimentation between camera and computer.

There are several strong entry points to the album, which will quickly hook viewers into a sequence of playful animations. Raquel seamlessly applies her playful aesthetic style into a variety of scenarios, and to a range of talented chiptune artists such as goto80, psilodump, and tr1c3. Colourful remixes by c-men, NO CARRIER, shantell martin and rob loren round off a full album which also includes 2 hidden tracks, a slideshow of print and photography, vj loops and an interview with Raquel. The album is also currently being developed into a graphic adventure iPad app.

"Das Video entstand im Rahmen des den Freiwild-Energy Video-Contest, bei dem ein 40-Sekündiges Video die Marke Freiwild bestmöglichst und so verrückt wie möglich darstellen soll. 
Dominik Wellna (Industrial-Design Student) arbeitete hier die 3D Animationen in 3DsMax aus, Biggi (Multimedia Studentin) erstellte alle Grafiken und Animationen in After Effects.
Das Video ging als Sieger des Contests hervor und wird nun als Werbevideo für Freiwild-Energy verwendet.
Die Musik kommt von Psilodump, der uns seinen Song "Hold Me And Burn" Verfügung gestellt hat."

Microdisko ställer till med fest för att fira det största som hänt chipmusikscenen sedan version 1 av Little Sound DJ; releasen av Kraftwerk-hyllningsskivan 8-Bit Operators. På skivan som släpps genom Astralwerks tolkar artister från hela världen Kraftwerks legendariska hits på gamla datorer och tv-spel.

Releasen består av två fristående skivor; en CD med 15 artister som tolkar var sin Kraftwerk-låt, samt en tolvtummare med två låtar där en av dom är megamix med inte mindre än 12 medverkande artister.

Bland artisterna på skivorna hittar man fyra svenska namn, som alla är välkända för Microdiskos publik; Covox, Role Model, Psilodump och Random. Förutom dem hittar man en rad andra artister som spelat hos oss; Bit Shifter, Nullsleep, David E. Sugar, gwEm, FirestARTer och Sidabitball.

Denna framtida megaklassiker kan vi inte missa att fira ordentligt! Därför anordnar vi stor fest på Stacken med DJ:s, VJ:s och konserter med några av de medverkande artisterna; Random, Psilodump och Covox.

Under kvällen kommer man att kunna köpa skivorna till ett rabatterat pris, och vi kommer dessutom att dela ut ett antal skivor.
