Just in time for the U.S. National Polka Day on August 9th, Orange Mountain Music, Philip Glass’s own label, has released my friend Joseph C. Krause’s “Philip Glass: Etudes Polka”, a polka medley based on Glass’s piano Etudes.
It includes a brief sample of me — psilodump — saying “Why you numbskull!”.

Even though I was one of the winners last time, I decided to be a good sport and keep participating in these Planet Mu remix competitions. They are, after all, quite fun.
This time, I was battling a mycoplasma infection and only found out about the competition late, so I had to rush to put something together. Surprisingly, it turned out better than I expected. I thought it was an amusing contribution
and didn’t really consider the idea of winning - and it’s only fair I didn’t, given last time’s win. ;)

Planet Mu hosted another remix competition, and since the last one was a bit of fun, I thought I might as well take on the challenge again.
This time, the task was to remix a track by Meemo Comma.
To my surprise, I ended up as one of the winners and received a tape copy of Meemo Comma’s album Decimation of I. Yay!
Too bad my cassette deck is broken ;(
I've entered quite a few remix contests in the distant past, but since I never seem to win, I decided to stop wasting my time on them.
Then I stumbled upon this Planet Mu remix competition for a new track by µ-Ziq.
Being somewhat of a fan, I figured I’d give it a shot - not necessarily to win, but just for fun and practice.
The remix turned out quite funny!
While it didn’t win, it did earn a special mention :D
