In early 2001, a track titled ‘The Place Behind It 2001’ emerged as a reimagined version of my 1997 tune, ‘The Place Behind It.’ Following an unforeseen loss of the original master in a hard drive crash, this piece was eventually recovered in mere MP3 format. It was later remastered and reintroduced as ‘Farewell’ on the 2006 album 'Never Heal.'
Fast forward to 2024, and ‘Farewell’ has undergone yet another transformation. This latest remaster, completed at Sage Audio, preserves the essence of the original while embracing its history, complete with the inherent squeaky MP3 artifacts from its early digital days.
